Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer to Debut at Star Wars Celebration, is Attached to Avengers: Age of Ultron Screenings
May 1st might already be in your diary as the the day that Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron is released, but that date just got even bigger with the news that the first full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will screen before showings of the second installment in the Avengers series. But if that May 1st date is making you groan with impatience, there is a way you can feast your eyes on the trailer a whole 2 weeks early. As Collider reports, Disney are going to give the trailer its world premiere at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration, which runs from April 16-19 in Anaheim, California.

Disney, who own both LucasFilm and Marvel, certainly didn't need to attach the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Joss Whedon's movie for commercial purposes. Avengers: Age of Ultron is widely expected to be the summer's highest grossing movie, but giving fans the chance to see the trailer for a new Star Wars movie will only serve to boost the audience's desire to rush out and see the Marvel tentpole on its opening weekend. The teaser trailer for JJ Abrams' movie damn near broke the internet when it was released last year, so just imagine what will happen when the full trailer is released and new details of the movie become apparent.

It's unclear when the trailer will hit the internet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it emerged in an official capacity shortly after the opening of Star Wars Celebration on Thursday April 16th. Thousands of rabid Star Wars fans (myself included) are expected to pack into the Anaheim Convention Center as JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy open the event, and as we've seen from the likes of San Diego Comic Con, preventing grainy smartphone footage from leaking onto the internet is nigh on impossible.

Star Wars Celebration is rapidly shaping up to be the biggest weekend in the franchise's history. As well as the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the second season of Star Wars Rebels is scheduled to make its world premier, and don't be surprised if artwork and details are revealed for Gareth Edwards' stand-alone movie, Star Wars: Rogue One.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released on December 18th 2015.
