Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund Set to Return for Tron 3
< >
Tron: Legacy stars Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund are both attached to the upcoming Disney sequel, Tron 3, which will be helmed by returning director Joseph Kosinski.

The original Tron came out in 1982, and while Tron: Legacy didn't come out until 2010, it was very much a sequel rather than a reboot. Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner both reprised their roles from the original film, while the plot centered on Hedlund, who played Bridges's son. Wilde played Quorra, an "isomorphic algorithm" who develops a bond with Hedlund's character after he enters the virtual reality Grid.

Legacy received mixed reviews, with critics praising the innovative visuals but panning the script and lack of character development. But, it made $400 million globally, so it was inevitable that a sequel would happen eventually.

Tron 3 will begin filming this fall in Vancouver.
