Brad Bird Confirms He Has Started Writing the Script for Incredibles 2!
< >
It's time to dust off your super suits, because Brad Bird has confirmed that he is in the process of writing the script for a sequel to his hit Disney Pixar movie, The Incredibles

""It's percolating. I mean, I'm just starting to write it, so we'll see what happens." Bird told NPR's Ask Me Another

Bird's comments are the first concrete news we've had on the Incredibles 2 project since Disney Pixar revealed they had plans for the movie last year, but with work on the screenplay only just commencing, we still have almost 2 years before we get to see those red spandex suits on the big screen again. Still, we've waited more 11 years for a sequel already, so what's two more years?

When The Incredibles was released back in 2004 it received rave reviews for its witty take on superhero stories that, considering the proliferation of comic book movies, appears to have been way ahead of its time. The movie featured the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and a man who is always present when it comes to superheroes, Samuel L. Jackson...

When 'Cars' -which was considered by many to be below the studio's usually high standards- was given a sequel in 2011, many called for some of Pixars classics such as Finding Nemo and The Incredibles to get sequels as well. But, while we've had to wait a long time for those calls to be answered, it would appear that Disney and Pixar are finally giving the fans what they want. Along with the announcement of an Incredibles sequel, Pixar has also previously announced that a Finding Nemo sequel entitled 'Finding Dory' is in the works as well as Toy Story 4 and yet another blasted Cars movie.

The Incredibles 2 is slated for a release some time in 2016.
