Live-Action Power Rangers Release Date Pushed Back to 2017
Lionsgate just announced that they have pushed back the release of the Power Rangers movie until January 13, 2017. It was previously scheduled to come out six months earlier, on July 22, 2016.

The studio confirmed that they were developing a live-action Power Rangers project back in May, and promptly hired Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz to write the script. Earlier this month, Dean Israelite was tapped to direct the film, and original Power Rangers creator Haim Saban will return to the franchise as producer.

Few plot details are known about the project, except that the Power Rangers will depicted as high school-aged kids who discover latent superpowers. Maybe with six more months they'll be able to closer approximate the awesomeness of that Joseph Kahn Power/Rangers short. It probably won't as that short was way too NSFW for the young target audience, but we can dream!
