Fan Poll: Do We Really Need a Boba Fett Star Wars Movie?
As the dust settles after a hectic Star Wars Day, in which saw new images of Adam Driver's Kylo Ren and Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma, it's pretty easy to feel that all is ticking along beautifully for Star Wars fans. But there was one Star Wars Day tidbit that received rather less fanfare and a great deal more debate. According to The Wrap, the second Star Wars Anthology movie, which is scheduled for a 2018 release, will focus on the Star Wars universe's most-famous bounty hunter...Boba Fett.

The Mandalorian has become one of the most popular figures among Star Wars fans, a point that is reinforced when attending events like Star Wars Celebration and seeing dozens upon dozens of Boba Fett cosplays in among the crowds. But does Fett's popularity make him worthy of his very own Star Wars movie? That's a case that is currently being debated by Star Wars fans across the world, with many saying there are other, more interesting characters to explore, and others arguing that the son of Jango Fett is one of the most exciting characters the franchise has ever created.

But what do you guys think? Would you like to see a Boba Fett solo movie? Let us know in the poll below.

Of course, we should point out that these are just reports, but this is probably the umpteenth time that Fett's name has been linked to the Star Wars Anthology movies, so either somebody really wants to see it happen, or it is actually happening. But, such is the brilliance of the Star Wars universe, I would argue that there are an infinite number of characters better suited to a solo Star Wars movie. How about Yoda, or one of the other members of the old Jedi council? How about a character we've never even seen before? The options are practically endless, so it really baffles me that we keep ending up in the same place, which is of course....Boba Fett.

This is not to say that Fett is an uninteresting character, far from it. More my concern is that Fett will lose some of his allure if we were to probe too deeply into his backstory. We've already touched upon the making of Star Wars most famous Bounty Hunter in other canon tales like Attack of the Clones and The Clone Wars, so giving him the dreaded 'Origin Story' seems to be overkill.

However, if you could show me how Fett escaped the Sarlacc Pit (like we all know he did) and went on to influence the Star Wars universe between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens...then I may just be a bit more interested.
