New Poster for Marvel's Ant-Man, Plus Every MCU Poster that Looks Exactly Like It
A new Ant-Man poster is here, and like most of the promotional materials so far, it's incredibly boring. The only interesting aspect of this poster is the choice to describe Marvel Studios as "the studio that brought you Guardians of the Galaxy," but I suppose it makes sense. Avengers may break all the records, but they're clearly gunning for Ant-Man to be an offbeat, underdog superhero film that wildly exceeds expectations, just like Guardians.

As if it's not bad enough that we've literally been seeing this exact image of Paul Rudd since the first official Ant-Man photo came out in August, but the poster as a whole is essentially the same as every MCU poster that ever lived.

Here are the worst offenders, which remind us that even if the Ant-Man poster is boring, at least it doesn't make Evangeline Lilly do that ridiculous "butt pose":

The Avengers films obviously look a little different, but only because their posters are so overcrowded. The only solo films that break the mold are Captain America: Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy, which are also the most original and innovative Marvel films. Coincidence? I think not.

The official synopsis for Ant-Man is as follows:

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' "Ant-Man." Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Marvel's Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne (Wasp/Red Queen), Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, comes out in theaters on July 17.
