16 Can't-Miss Panels at Wizard World Philadelphia 2015
Wizard World Philadelphia kicks off tomorrow, and we couldn't be more excited. Between nerdy anniversary panels, advance screenings of anticipated television premieres, special guests like Stephen Amell, Hayley Atwell, David Tennant, Billie Piper, Nathan Fillion, and Summer Glau, there's no shortage of geek culture to absorb this weekend.

We will be in attendance, as well as speaking on a Marvel vs DC panel on Friday evening, hosted by Blastr's Aaron Sagers. Let the best studio win!

The full schedule can be found here, but these are our picks for can't-miss events this weekend:

Thursday, May 7

6:30 – 7:45PM WAYWARD PINES PREMIERE EPISODE SCREENING AND Q&A WITH M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN (ROOM 108)

Remember when M. Night Shayamalan used to do things? Us neither, but this show is actually getting great reviews so far, so this advance screening is definitely worth a look.

Based on Blake Crouch's international bestselling series of books and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan, "WAYWARD PINES" is a 10-episode, intense psychological thriller, starring Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon as a Secret Service agent on a mission to find two missing federal agents in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID. Every step closer to the truth makes him question if he will ever get out of Wayward Pines alive. Developed for television by Chad Hodge and executive-produced by Donald De Line, Ashwin Rajan, Hodge and Shyamalan. Chad Hodge wrote and M. Night Shyamalan directed the premiere episode. An insightful Q&A will follow the screening with M. Night Shyamalan.

7:30PM WIZARD WORLD COMIC CON PRESENTS AN EXCLUSIVE ADVANCED SCREENING OF MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

There's basically no chance of actually getting into this, but if you're lucky enough to go, it's unquestionably the most exciting event of the weekend.

You read that right! Come see Mad Max: Fury Road before EVERYONE else! EXTREMELY limited tickets! For more information, visit the Daily News booth on the exhibition floor!

Friday, May 8

1:30 – 2:15PM FROM AGENT CARTER TO AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (AND GROOT)! MARVEL COMICS AT 76-WITH PETER SANDERSON & DANNY FINGEROTH (ROOM 111)

Marvel Comics turns 76 years old this year, so come see the creative forces behind all your favorite comics (and, by extension, movies and TV shows).

In 1939, Marvel Comics #1 debuted, unleashing The Sub-Mariner and The Human Torch on the world, and launching what would come to be known as the Marvel Universe. Peter Sanderson (Marvel Universe Handbook) and Danny Fingeroth (Deadly Foes of Spider-Man) present an illustrated tour through the more than seven decades of the phenomenon that is Marvel, up to and including the smash hit Avengers: Age of Ultron.

3:00 – 3:45PM 10 YEARS OF NU (DOCTOR) WHO (ROOM 109)

The new Doctor Who celebrated its tenth anniversary this year, and there's no better place to celebrate than Comic Con. Billie Piper and David Tennant will be at their own panel later in the weekend, but this is still worth attending for nostalgia's sake alone.

This year is the 10th anniversary of return of Doctor Who starting with now famous episode - Rose with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper. It is also the 10th Anniversary of David Tennant's first appearance at the Doctor.

5:30 – 6:15PM MARVEL VS DC: THE BATTLE FOR SUPER CINEMA & TV (ROOM 111)

Marvel is certainly ahead of the game with their cinematic universe, but do any of Marvel's movies compare to The Dark Knight? And who wins on TV, Arrow/Flash or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D./Daredevil?

Whether your loyalties lie with the Justice League or the Avengers, the stage is set for a live-action face-off between two comic giants on the big and small screen. As Marvel expands its connected universe on TV, Netflix and movies, DC has joined the action with a slate of shows and a whole lot of movies in the works. What does the battle mean for fans, and who will win? Join nerdy journalist Aaron Sagers, Editor At Large of Blastr.com, and other experts as we discuss this super showdown. Bring your loyalties and get ready for a great debate!

12:30 – 1:15PM THE CWPHILLY PRESENTS: SPECIAL ADVANCED SCREENING OF 3RD SEASON PREMIER OF BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (ROOM 108)

This show seems a little on the silly side, but an advance screening is exciting nonetheless?

As season three begins, Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent (Jay Ryan) are able to focus on their love, finally free from Muirfield, manhunts and beasts. However, that love will be tested as new and more dangerous threats await. When they learn that innocent victims are being used to test the boundaries of the impossible, Cat and Vincent will uncover a deeper conspiracy, one which Vincent can fight only by turning to the beast he carries within. But unleashing the beast will risk Vincent's life – along with his and Cat's love – as they struggle to build a normal life together.

1:30 – 2:15PM INSIDE STARLING CITY WITH KATIE CASSIDY (ROOM 113)

This time, a conflict between two DC Comics television shows: will you pick Batman or Arrow (read: the other Batman)?

Starling City can feel a little bit safer with Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) around to help protect its citizens. Join the star of the hit CW show, Arrow, as she discuss her part on the hit show, share a detail or two about the upcoming season, her exciting roles outside of Arrow & much more!
