Stephen Amell Talked to DC About Guest Starring on Constantine - And Other Highlights from the Arrow Wizard World Panel
#SaveConstantine — Hey TV Networks / Netflix and the like... If you pick up the show, I'll guest star.— Stephen Amell (@amellywood) May 9, 2015
And today, in his Wizard World Philadelphia panel, Amell revealed that there have been conversations about the crossover with some higher-ups. He claimed that he had spoken with DC, "not NBC, not the CW, but DC" (which presumably means Warner Bros.? It's unclear), about the possibility of guest starring on Constantine. While nothing is official, all of the publicity surrounding Amell's offer could easily make it more likely that another network will want to take advantage of DC's built-in fanbase and ride on the coattails of the success of the Arrow/Flash franchise.
Here are a few other highlights from Amell's Wizard World panel:
The next "Big Bad" has already been teased on Arrow
There have been rumors for several months that the DC Comics character Damian Dark, who has primarily been known as a Batman villain, will be the "Big Bad" of season four. Amell confirmed this, claiming that Dark was teased as the next big villain in the twenty-first episode of the season and will be teased once again in the season finale.
Oliver will likely become Ra's Al Ghul in season four
Oliver has been undergoing a dark transformation in recent episodes, becoming Al Sah-him, or the Heir to the Demon. But Amell revealed that he may become the next Ra's al Ghul sometime in the next season: "There may definitely be a chance that this season I will officially be Ra's al Ghul."
Oliver and Diggle's friendship will be rocky for the foreseeable future
During Oliver's recent cruel streak, he kidnapped and terrorized his friend Diggle's wife. According to Amell, this crossed a line, and their relationship will suffer for it. The conflict between them as a result of this action, Amell says, "stretches into season four."
He wants to host SNL
Amell stated that he desperately wants to host SNL, but that he doesn't think it's realistic at this time. But, when his career has taken off a little bit more, he will be "campaigning like crazy," and encourages all of us to do the same by reaching out to SNL on social media.
He wants Oliver to smile
When asked how he wants the character of Oliver Queen to evolve in future seasons, Amell said, "I would want him to smile. You can only stare brooding off into the distance for so long. In fact, I think 69 episodes is enough." He went on to say that he wants Oliver to become a little bit closer to the classical DC Comics version of the character.
Amell and David Ramsey are besties in real life
All of the funniest stories from Amell's panel were about his real-life buddy, David Ramsey. The two of them are constantly goofing around on set, making fart noises and screaming out classic movie lines in Bane's voice (including Seven's "what's in the box?!" throughout season two).
