High-Quality Version of CBS's Supergirl Pilot Leaked to Piracy Sites
Like The Flash before it, Supergirl's pilot has been leaked to Torrent and other file-sharing sites six months ahead of its premiere on CBS. According to Variety, the copies of the pilot are high-quality, and were leaked at approximately 3am this morning.

There's a chance that this isn't the real pilot, or that it's unfinished, but initial reports state that there are no watermarks that indicate these are "screener" copies. Piracy monitor Excipio states that the pilot has been downloaded more than 120,000 times as of 9:30 this morning. So while CBS and Warner Bros. will undoubtedly try to stem the flow of piracy, it's likely too late, and the damage has already been done.

But the pilot being leaked may not "damage" the show at all; it could hurt the ratings for the pilot itself, but will likely drive anticipation for the show itself, especially if the pilot is good (which I suppose is the question). But just look at The Flash; its pilot leaked months ahead of time, and the fact that everyone insisted it was great made it one of the buzziest shows of last season. And considering that the Supergirl trailer has already been viewed over 11 million times since it was released last week, the leaked pilot will probably just continue to drive that buzz.

Supergirl has received a series commitment, and will debut in November 2015 in the Monday 8pm slot, competing with fellow DC Comics adaptation Gotham.
