Ant-Man Writers Join Transformers Prequel Film, Which May Take Place on Cybertron
Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari have joined the newest Transformers film, because that's just what we need: more Transformers. According to Deadline, insiders are claiming that the movie will likely be a prequel origin story that takes place on Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers before they came to Earth.

The reports also state that the Cybertron film may be animated, but there are live-action sequels/prequels/spin-offs planned as well. The goal is to have a sequel ready for Michael Bay as soon as he's finished with the Benghazi drama 13 Hours.

For the record, we hate all of these ideas. There is an intricate and semi-interesting mythology behind the Transformers, especially the power struggles on Cybertron, but after the unmitigated disaster that was Transformers: Age of Extinction (which had the dubious distinction of topping our worst sci-fi films of 2014 list), we've given up on any watchable films coming out of the franchise.
