New Terminator: Genisys Featurette Explores T-800's Father-Daughter Relationship with Sarah Connor
< >
We've been dubious about the slightly outlandish changes to the Terminator timeline, which includes Sarah Connor being raised from childhood by a reprogrammed T-800, but this new featurette is sort of endearing. The video explores the relationship between Sarah Connor and her "Guardian" who treats her very much like a surrogate daughter:

"The relationship is very much a father-daughter relationship," Emilia Clarke says in the video. "But he's not human, so there's only so much you can get from him."

Even so, the relationship seems fairly affectionate, with Sarah calling him "Pops" and Arnold Schwarzenegger characterizing him as "pretty much glued to her 24/7." The best part of the featurette, though, is probably when Guardian sees Sarah driving a bus before a huge action set piece and says, "Sarah Connor! Seatbelt!" What a dad.

Terminator Genisys also stars Jason Clarke as John Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Doctor Who's Matt Smith, and J.K. Simmons. The film comes out in theaters on July 1.
