Jimmy Kimmel's Spoof of The Martian Trailer Skewers Matt Damon
The first trailer for The Martian came out this week, and it has everyone abuzz with excitement. Everyone, that is, except for Jimmy Kimmel, who made his own version of the trailer for the sole purpose of poking fun at Matt Damon:

First, Kimmel rightly makes fun of Matt Damon's annoying, purposeless role in Interstellar, saying the Martian marks "the second time Matt Damon plays a guy who gets stranded in space."

"When Ben Affleck goes into space, he's blowing up a meteor to preserve the human race! Matt Damon goes up there, he gets lost and has to be saved!"

Then the actual spoof trailer plays, and it's pretty much just one crude joke. Called, Mastronaut: Emission to Mars, this version is a romantic comedy rather than a sci-fi epic, in which Matt Damon finds love in space with himself.

But just in case you thought Kimmel was being a little rough on Damon, here's the classic video that started the friendly rivalry:

The Martian also stars Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan and Donald Glover. It comes out in theaters on October 2.
