UPDATED: Did Kevin Feige Just Reveal the Title of the Guardians of the Galaxy Sequel?
Guardians of the Galaxy was fun and groundbreaking for so many reasons, not the least of which was its pitch-perfect soundtrack. Peter Quill's Awesome Mix Tape Vol. 1 got everyone hooked on a feeling, becoming the second best-selling soundtrack of 2014 (after Frozen, of course) and spawning an equally awesome Mix Vol. 0. The end of the film teased an Awesome Mix Vol. 2., which may be almost as anticipated as the sequel itself, and if Kevin Feige's comments at the Ant-Man press day, the title of the sequel may capitalize on that success.

Opening quote
"We start shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 in February-March 2016."

It's unclear whether that was a slip of the tongue, a working title, or whether he was really revealing the title of the sequel. But according to Collider, one of their reporters asked Feige if he had just revealed the title, and "the Marvel exec was noncommittal."

At the same press day, Feige also confirmed the rumors that the solo Spider-Man movie would go the John Hughes route:

Opening quote
"It's the soap opera in high school, and those supporting characters, that are interesting. Just as we hadn't seen a heist movie in a long time, or a shrinking movie in a long time, we haven't seen a John Hughes movie in a long time. Not that we can make a John Hughes movie – only John Hughes could – but we're inspired by him, and merging that with the superhero genre in a way we haven't done before excites us."
Closing quote

It was a mistake to refer to it as a "soap opera," because that's pretty pejorative no matter which way you slice it, but hopefully the John Hughes characterization is more accurate. A focus on interpersonal relationships ≠ soap opera if done right.

Feige also revealed that they're not interested in bringing back villains like the Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus. "Right now we're interested in seeing villains we haven't seen before."

And finally, Feige estimated when we might see an LGBTQ character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "Within the next decade? Yeah. I would think so, for sure." Once again, Marvel proves that they will only add diversity to their superhero movies when there's an intolerable amount of public pressure. Hopefully, following the SCOTUS marriage equality decision, there will be more public pressure and we can move up that vague, disappointing timeline.

UPDATE - 08/24/15 02:03 pm

James Gunn good-naturedly admitted defeat and confirmed that the sequel will, in fact, be called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2:

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 comes out on May 5, 2017, while the Spider-Man solo movie comes out on July 28, 2017, and a Marvel movie featuring an LGBTQ superhero comes out probably never.
