New Ant-Man TV Spot Reveals Avenger Cameo
Ant-Man has been getting early praise from critics and fans, who call it the "most human Marvel film to date." But even with the overall warm reception to the script, the most positive attention is arguably going to Ant-Man's apparently plentiful MCU connections.
Early screenings confirm there are two "huge" post-credits scenes, as well as miscellaneous Easter eggs and MCU cameos. Now, a new TV spot not only confirms that an Avenger will make an appearance, but briefly shows which Avenger it will be.
In the above TV spot, there's a brief flash of Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, whom Marvel Comics fans know as the Falcon. Although he's not a part of the official Avengers roster in the films as of now, he played a large role in Avengers: Age of Ultron and will likely become part of the new roster once the actors' contracts start expiring. The TV spot, which seems to highlight positive critical reviews, doesn't give any insight as to why Falcon is there. But we can only assume that he was called in to help, since it was implied in a previous TV spot that the Avengers are unavailable to assist Ant-Man with his struggle against Yellowjacket in the current MCU timeline.
Marvel's Ant-Man, starring Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne (Wasp/Red Queen), Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, comes out in theaters on July 17.
