The Best Marvel Moments from San Diego Comic Con 2015
Marvel Studios famously skipped out on Comic-Con this year, leaving us in the dark for future developments relating to Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and every other future blockbuster the studio is working on. But just because the Marvel movies weren't in attendance doesn't mean that the rest of Marvel's properties took the weekend off. Far from it. From comics to TV shows to other studios' movies about Marvel characters, there was still plenty of awesomeness coming out of San Diego from the House of Ideas. Here are the 10 best.

Storm's Mohawk

Fox studios might as well have been called Marvel studios given the attention they paid to their licensed superhero franchises. Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and X-Men: Apocalypse all had lengthy panels with new footage, and in addition to seeing our first glimpse of the titular villain in Apocalypse, we also got confirmation that Storm sports her 80s mohawk in the movie. It's about time.

The Deadpool Trailer and Panel

Speaking of the Fox footage, it's safe to say the Deadpool trailer and panel won Comic-Con. It's filthy, violent, funny, and above all else, it's awesome. The panel that came before the footage set the tone, though. T.J Miller got into a way-too-long conversation about Horse fornication, and everyone lapped up the general R-rated nature of the entire 30 minutes they were on stage This is the Deadpool movie we've been waiting for, and the chants of "One more time! One more time!" after the footage aired are a testament to that.

Dr. Doom

Wants In the MCU Doctor Doom just might be Marvel's most-iconic villain, so it's a shame he can't be incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to Fox owning the character's license. But that didn't stop Toby Kebbell, who's playing the bad doctor in Fox's Fantastic Four, from expressing his desire for the two studios to work out some kind of deal to loan out Doctor Doom. Hey, it worked for Spider-Man.

Stan Lee's Ultimate Cameo and Selfie

Stan Lee has made a habit of appearing in superhero movies, but this may be his greatest achievement yet. Lee managed to snag a selfie with the casts of Deadpool, X-Men, and Fantastic Four, plus Gambit and Wolverine. Your move, Ellen.

Blade News

We haven't said that in a while. Blade was kind of a hot topic at the con this year, thanks to the reveal that a new Blade comic is debuting this fall from Marvel featuring a new female Blade along with Wesley Snipes dishing that he's talked to Marvel about returning to the screen as part of the MCU. Might a Netflix series be on the horizon?

Spider-Man/Deadpool

Marvel's much-ballyhooed snuffing of Fox-owned characters in the comics may be a bunch of malarkey now that they've announced that Deadpool is getting his own series alongside Marvel's most-recognizable property, Spider-Man. The new series, called Spider-Man/Deadpool, is set to debut in the fall.

More Inhumans for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. announced that they're ramping up their Inhuman population in season 3 (who didn't see that coming?) with the addition of a familiar face from the comics: the ruthless Inhuman, Lash. This show has come along way since the comic-phobic first season, that's for sure.

Marvel Video Games Are Coming

If there's one area where DC Comics is currently beating Marvel, it's console games. But that could soon be changing as Marvel claimed they're focusing efforts toward "quality-focused" console games and should have some significant announcements next year. Awesome.

Chewbacca Comic

Superheroes aren't the only characters appearing in Marvel Comics these days. Marvel has also brought back Disney stablemate Star Wars in comic form recently, and the galaxy far, far away will soon be expanding as Chewbacca gets his own book. Which begs the question: How do you spell a wookie's trademark growl?
