Matt Ryan's Constantine May Appear on Arrow
Constantine started out a little rough around the edges (much like its main character), but many fans felt the show didn't get a fair shake before it was prematurely cancelled. Unfortunately, the show still hasn't found a home and likely won't before the fall 2015 season, but Matt Ryan's incarnation of the character might be alive and well in the Arrow/Flash universe. In an interview with IGN at San Diego Comic Con with Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, and Arrow EP Wendy Mericle, it was revealed that Matt Ryan may guest star on Arrow as Constantine.

Here's the Constantine-related part of the interview, beginning around the seven-minute mark:

Opening quote
"Yeah, we really want to do it," said Mericle. "It's something we've been talking to DC about and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen."
"Fingers crossed," said Amell.
"But we're really optimistic and we would love to have him," said Mericle.
Closing quote

We really hope this will happen. It would be ideal for Constantine to be brought back, as it didn't really get a chance to find its footing before it was booted off the air. But in lieu of that, Matt Ryan's performance was the most consistently great aspect of the show, so it only makes sense to keep this version of the character alive in some form.

The cast and Mericle also commented on the recent casting of Neal McDonough as season four villain Damien Darhk:

"Neal was really our first choice," said Mericle. "We wanted someone who would bring a lot of gravitas and a lot of menace. We really wanted someone who was going to be scary and could hold a candle to... the other Big Bads we've had on the show before."

After seeing McDonough play remarkably creepy villains in Justified and even Desperate Housewives (yes, fine, I made it to the sixth season of that show, don't judge me), we think he's perfect for the role. He's an incredibly talented actor, especially when he's being sinister, and it helps for a show like Arrow that he doesn't really look like a real person. With his platinum blonde hair and crazy blue eyes, he'll make a very scary and comic book-ish Damien Darhk.

(Side note: As someone who doesn't read DC Comics, can we talk for a second about how ridiculously unsubtle that name is? First name Satan, last name Dark. They might as well have just gone ahead and named him Bad Guy.)

Arrow returns on October 7 at 8pm on the CW. The season premiere is entitled "Green Arrow," which likely refers to the show's plan to turn Arrow into Green Arrow over the course of this season.
