New Trailer for The Leftovers Season 2 Teases New Characters and a New Crisis
In the second season of The Leftovers, the Garveys are trying to get a fresh start in a "miracle" town, but since this is The Leftovers, there's no such thing as miracles:

The second season sees the Garveys (and Nora, who's taking care of Holy Wayne's baby) relocate to Jarden, Texas, which has painted itself as a modern-day "Jarden of Eden," as every one of their residents was spared from the Departure that ravaged Mapleton. If it seems too good to be true, that's because it is, and new and old characters alike quickly realize that the town was not actually "spared." We don't know what that means yet, and especially since the first season used all of the material from the book, it could mean absolutely anything. But from the above footage, it looks like there's something sinister under the surface of the "miracle" town.

The footage looks interesting so far, especially the seemingly religious, cult-ish element of the mythology surrounding Jarden. This will likely help us feel the absence of the GR a little less, as they were the most compelling part of the first season, although both Liv Tyler and Ann Dowd (somehow) are returning, so they won't be completely absent anyway.

With much of the supporting cast cut, Kevin Carroll, Regina King, and Jovan Adepo are joining the regular cast as a Jarden family, the Murphys, who were untouched by the Departure. There's also a daughter, Evie, played by Jasmin Savoy Brown, but considering the footage in the trailer and the fact that she's not a series regular, her prospects don't look very good.
