New Teasers for The Flash and Arrow Introduce Zoom and Green Arrow

The Flash and Arrow are both coming back next week, and The CW has given us two new promos that tease new characters (or new identities for old characters). First, the Flash promo gives us our first glimpse at DC Comics villain Zoom:

There's only a brief glimpse of Zoom, but we also get a little more of Jay Garrick, who is apparently called the "Crimson Comet" in his reality, compared to Barry's Scarlet Speedster, as well as teases of Barry and Iris's thwarted romance and Cisco coming to terms with his powers.

But is it just me, or does Zoom look an awful lot like Barry? The glimpse of him is brief and blurry, but considering that there's been no definitive casting news for Zoom so far (he will be voiced by Tony Todd), I wouldn't be surprised if Zoom was Barry in an alternate universe, especially since he seems to be passing through a black hole singularity, just as Barry did in the season finale.

We'll also be seeing Barry discovering new powers, which somehow involve lightning. The CW released a new poster teasing these new abilities, which will appear in the second episode of the season:

The CW also released a new teaser for Arrow, which shows the Green Arrow in action:

We've seen glimpses of Oliver's Green Arrow costume, not to mention that Damien Darhk explicitly called Oliver Green Arrow in a previous teaser, but in this promo we really see him in action. Several of the characters will be coming to terms with new identities this season, from Laurel's Black Canary to Thea's Speedy to Diggle's mystery identity, featuring a Magneto-like helmet.

The Flash returns for its second season on Tuesday, October 6 at 8pm, while Arrow returns for its fourth season on Wednesday, October 7 at 8pm on The CW.
