Mads Mikkelsen Speaks Out on Doctor Strange Role
It's been a few weeks since we first heard that Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen may be appearing as a villain in Marvel's upcoming Doctor Strange movie, and now the Danish actor is finally sounding off on his potential role. Unfortunately, it sounds like he doesn't even know if he's going to be in the film yet.

In an interview with Chinese movie site MTime, Mikkelsen admits that nothing has been finalized with Marvel. He says of his potential casting in the film:

Opening quote
"I know as much as the rest of the world. So far it's been rumors, so I'm waiting on a phone call ... It would be fantastic to be a part of the Marvel family. I mean, it's something we all grew up with. We all have our heroes, and Doctor Strange is definitely one of the more interesting things."
Closing quote

It sounds to us like Mikkelsen definitely wants the role (he also mentioned in the interview that he'd be "over the moon" if Marvel made him an offer), and the ball seems to be in Marvel's court. We can't imagine why the studio wouldn't want the guy, since he might very well be better at being bad than any actor in Hollywood at the moment. With memorable villainous roles as a Bond villain and Hannibal Lector already under his belt, all he's missing from his resume is a classic comic book villain. We've already laid out our reasons as to why he'd make the perfect Dormammu, Lord of the Dark Dimension, in Doctor Strange, now it's up to Marvel to make it happen. Pick up the phone, Kevin Feige!
