New Star Wars-Inspired Armor Will Make You Look Just Like Boba Fett

Cosplay has just reached a whole new level with this real-life Boba Fett-inspired armor. A body armor manufacturer has launched a new project called Galac-Tac, and it looks just like everyone's favorite Mandalorian bounty hunter.

H&K GalacTac Project.

The armor was made by AR-500 Armor, in collaboration with companies such as Heckler & Koch, TEA Headsets, Sog Knives & Tools, Armasight, SureFire, Wilcox Industries Corp, and Team Wendy, according to the company's Facebook page. They just unveiled the prototype armor designed by Ryan B. Flowers, who has become well-known for creating Mandalorian armor for airsoft enthusiasts. But unlike his previous efforts, this is real, bonafide armor, fitted with ballistic plates as well as state-of-the-art combat gadgets.

Opening quote
"Galac-Tac is a culmination of my love for all things science fiction and tactical apparel and armor," Flowers writes on the project's website. "My goal was to combine these two passions into a futuristic yet functional battle armor and helmet highbred [sic]."
Closing quote

It's unclear whether this armor is actually suited for combat more (or less) than more standard types of armor, in regards to mobility, visibility, etc. But then again, it would be pretty unsettling to see Boba Fett coming at you in a real-life combat situation, so maybe the shock value would make up for any functional deficiencies.
