Chris Hadfield's Incredible Space Oddity Rendition
Today May 13th 2014 is the last time you'll be able to watch this video. Chris Hadfield only had permission to host it online for 1 year and that year is unfortunately up. Hadfield and his son are working with David Bowie's lawyers to extend the agreement, but as the former ISS astronaut warned on Reddit "..there are no guarantees when it comes to videos shot in space."
We've been getting all teary in the Outer Placess office today because Chris Hadfield, our favorite astronaut in the history of astronauts is getting ready to leave the ISS, and he has just signed off with this incredible rendition of David Bowie's Space Oddity.
Hadfield's departure from the ISS will be felt in all corners of the internet. The now former Commander of the International Space Station has entertained us with his tweets and videos over the last few months, something that has seen his Twitter following grow to a lofty 800,000 people.
We have featured many of his efforts, but Mr.Hadfield really has saved the best til last with the first music video to ever be shot in space. Watch, and get all misty-eyed as you see a legendary astronaut cover a legendary song by a legendary musician.
