Neil deGrasse Tyson's Cosmos Reboot To Air in 2014
Fox announced yesterday that the reboot of Carl Sagan's Cosmos, featuring Neil deGrasse Tyson, will finally air sometime in 2014.
The LA Times reported that Fox announced the long-awaited title's air date at their Upfront presentation in New York on 14th May. Cosmos: A Personal Journey, which has been in the pipeline for a number of years now, will see the hugely popular Neil deGrasse Tyson add his take on a Carl Sagan classic.
The use of deGrasse Tyson, is logical. He is after all incredibly well versed on the subject matter, well respected among his peers and a cult figure among the more casual scientist. But the name of the man producing the show will have more than a few eyebrows raised. That man is Seth MacFarlane. Yes, the same all singing, all dancing man behind Family Guy, American Dad and last year's Ted.
Just how the Director of the Hayden Planetarium and the creator of one of TV's most successful cartoon series will approach one of TV's all time classics remains to be seen, but we're pretty sure that this will be one MacFarlane production that doesn't have any show tunes in it. Or at least we hope...
