White House Insider Says President Nixon Hid Proof of Aliens in Secret Time Capsule
We've been looking to the stars for proof of alien life all these years, but it turns out that might have been the wrong play. According to reports from a former White House insider who met with Richard Nixon several times during his presidency, the United States not only knew about aliens in the early 1970s, but they allegedly stored that knowledge in a time capsule deep beneath the White House.
The source, a man named Robert Merritt, shared the details of his story during an interview with The Dark Journalist. Merritt is introduced as a "former undercover Huston Plan insider" who became close enough with Nixon that the president trusted him with national secrets. The Huston Plan was a 1970 report by White House aide Tom Charles Huston that surfaced during Watergate and included plans for burglary and illegal surveillance, so that reveals a lot about the setting for Merritt and Nixon's relationship.
In the interview, Merritt said that he got to meet with Nixon on three separate occasions. The president allegedly read him a letter about how the US was protecting and communicating with an alien and learning "advanced technology and science."
Merritt also said that Nixon asked him to deliver a copy of the letter to Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor. As for the time capsule, Merritt says that it is still somewhere in the White House, and that he will reveal its location if the National Archive agrees to release the contents of Nixon's letter to the public.
The theory that the US government is hiding the truth is not a new one, but a lot of those claims come from people with no ties to the government and no real evidence to support what they are saying. What's interesting is that fact-checking site Snopes has listed this case as "unproven" and has used quotes and information from Merritt's interview. The status of the myth may remain unproven until the National Archive makes a decision, or until someone else finds that capsule.
