Putin You On: Russian Propaganda Outlet Claims U.S. Toilet Crapped Out On ISS

In a remarkable change of pace from interfering with American elections, launching dezinformatsiya campaigns across social media platforms to further pick apart America's fraying social fabric, and carrying out civilian assassinations, the Russian government – or at least one of its many state-run propaganda factories masquerading as a news agency – recently turned its attention to potty humor.

Then again, perhaps "potty rumor" would be more befitting Sputnik News' claim yesterday that some 10 liters of water leaked from the American latrine on the International Space Station according to a mysterious "source in the Russian space industry," who told the dubious "news agency" that "over 10 liters of water leaked before the problem was fixed. The crew had to collect the water using towels." As our counterparts at Futurism pointed out, water is a precious commodity (no pun intended) aboard the ISS, often obtained by recycling various bodily fluids. That factoid aside, it seems unlikely that the rumor – even if true – was shared because of any overarching concern for American well-being on the part of the Sputniks.

Unsurprisingly, the article dedicates about two-thirds of its wasted space and bandwidth to re-reporting the hole found on the Soyuz capsule last August, which they eventually implied was an act of American sabotage.
