The SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule returned to Earth this morning after completing its resupply mission to the International Space Station and successfully deploying four parachutes to splashdown just off the Florida coast. The capsule spent five days docked to the ISS as a test run for NASA's Commercial Crew Program, which will eventually carry astronauts to and from the ISS. As part of this mission, the Crew Dragon contained a "lifelike test device named Ripley...outfitted with sensors to provide data on potential effects on humans traveling in Crew Dragon."

Live coverage of the splashdown and its recovery was provided by NASA and, as of 0944 Eastern time, was continuing.
