Neil deGrasse Tyson's 'Cosmos' Premieres On Fox March 9th
Fox have announced the premiere date for their reboot of Carl Sagan's legendary science show, Cosmos. Narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey' will air for the first time on Fox at 9pm on March 9th 2014, taking the inspirational hard science show to a massive prime-time audience. If you can't find the time on March 9th (find the time!!), the show will be repeated on National Geographic the following day.
Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is produced by Seth MacFarlane, and the Family Guy creator's presence has made some fans of the original a little nervous. They shouldn't be. Also on the Fox's team are Ann Druyan and Steven Soter, both of whom were heavily involved in Carl Sagan's original. Plus, Neil deGrasse Tyson is probably the biggest name in Science right now. The Director at the Hayden Planetarium has become a cult figure in many corners of the internet, thanks in no small part to his wit, but also his obvious passion for the field of astrophysics. Neil deGrasse Tyson is the perfect man to anchor this sequel to Sagan's masterpiece, but Fox should also be commended for placing such a show in a prime-time slot. Here's to hoping it spawns a whole new generation of science buffs, just as Sagan did back in the 80's.
