Explore The Moon's Surface In This Brilliant Interactive Panorama

When China's Chang'e 3 lunar lander touched down on the moon in December, it caused quite a stir. It meant that China joined just a handful of countries to have successfully landed on the moon and ever since it has been going about its business surveying the surface of its new lunar home. If you were following the historic mission, you may have watched the onboard footage of Chang'e 3's landing, but now you can go one better and explore the surface of the moon from the rover's perspective.

This brilliant, fully interactive panorama has been created by sewing together a series of images taken by Chang'e 3 and it allows us to look at the haunting loneliness that a trip to the moon might provide. The moon's barren surface is punctuated by a the silhouette of Earth off far in the distance. So take a look around and bask in yet another great feat of humanity's exploration of space.
