A Supermoon Seen Around the World - The Best Photos of 2014's Biggest Moon

Last night, August 10th 2014, saw the largest moon of the year looming over skies across the planet. The awe-inspiring Supermoon was bad news for those hoping to catch a glimpse of the annual Perseid meteor shower, the bright lights emanating from our celestial neighbor meant that only a lucky few were actually able to spot any of the normally-striking Perseids. But lets face it, if you're going to miss out on a meteor shower for anything, the largest moon of the year is probably worth it. Not convinced that a supermoon beats a meteor shower?
